Frequently asked questions

Do I need to know math or have used an abacus before?

No. The program starts from scratch: first you learn to recognize numbers on the abacus, then to remember them. The sums are simple, with one digit.

I'm not good with technology. Will I be able to use it?

Yes. The text and buttons are large, and you do the exercises by tapping the abacus beads on the screen. It works on a tablet, phone or computer, with nothing to install. If you like, a family member can join you the first time.

What if I make a mistake?

If an exercise doesn't work out, you can ask for a hint or see the answer and carry on.

How much does it cost?

The 5 sessions of the memory program and the memory exercise are free. On the free plan, progress is saved only in the browser of the device you use: if you clear its data or switch devices, it's lost.

Does it help prevent memory loss?

It's a mental exercise, not a medical treatment, and it doesn't promise to prevent or treat any disease. If you're worried about your memory, talk to your doctor.

Do I need a physical abacus?

No. The abacus is on the screen. If you have one at home, you can practice with it too.
